Angela Ponchione

PONCHIONE – Angela, 89, Dilltown, passed away Aug. 1, 2012, at home. Born Jan. 31, 1923, in Colver, daughter of Nicola and Marianna (Agnello) Giangirolami. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Raymond Ponchione, who died Feb. 16, 1997; brothers, Steven and Gasper Zaffuto; sister, Carmella Persio; and daughters-in-law, Janet R. Ponchione and Debra L. Fyock. Loving mother of Raymond P., married to Patricia (Spongross), Ebensburg; Nicholas M., Richland; David A., Dilltown; and Lynette, married to Michael Gruca, Indiana, Pa.; grandmother of Elise, and husband, Domenic Calkins; Marc R., and wife, Anita; Ronni Toth; Nicholas, and wife, Kristen; Bryan T., and wife, Tammy; David E., and wife, Amy; and Valerie A., and husband, Matthew Gapshes; great-grandmother and Nonni to Domenic Christian, Francesca Annelise, Anna Sofia, Madeline Rose, Alex, Nolan, Taylor Ray, Jordyn Paige, Emily Patricia, Ty Owen and Ray Matthew; sisters-in-law, Fannie Zaffuto and Betty Lockard; and nieces, nephews and friends. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward. She will be remembered for her caring, generous and loving spirit. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, Seward. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward, the Rev. Robert Washko, officiating. Interment, Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg.
