Ann Butara Obituary

Butara, Ann, 90, of Charles, Pa., passed away January 14, 2020 at Beacon Ridge Nursing Care, Indiana, Pa. Born November 27, 1929 in Charles, daughter of Nick and Mary (Kaniuk) Dubil. Preceded in death by parents, husband John Butara, brothers Pete and Charles Dubil, sister Mary Simon, and an infant brother John. Survived by sister Evelyn Dubil of Charles and brother George Dubil of Seven Hills, Ohio. Also niece Mary Ann married to James Wagner and nephew Robert Simon married to Lila, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Ann was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, where she participated in all church activities. She was a certified beautician. Ann loved bingo and to ride the bus to the "slots". She was a loving companion to her sister Evelyn and a special "Anchie" to her nieces and nephews. Ann was a kind and generous person and was always smiling. Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Jon A. Meese Funeral Home - Seward. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Maple Avenue, Johnstown. Father Jim Davidson officiating. Interment St. Vladimir Cemetery, Johnstown. The family would like to thank VNA and special neighbor Mike Sank for all his help.
