Barbara Joyce Felix

Felix, Barbara Joyce, 82, Seward. Passed away June 26, 2023 at home. Born March 8, 1941 in Armagh, Pa. Daughter of Robert and Geraldine (Campbell) Davis. Preceded in death by parents and sister Nancy Markley. Survived by loving husband of over 60 years James T. Felix. Loving children James J. Felix - Colorado, Patricia married to Paul Braunegg - Williamsport, Pa. and Amy Beth married to Timothy Reese - Colorado. 7 grandchildren: Alyssa, Chad, Katey, Alison, Clayton, Emily, and Beth.   6 great-grandchildren: Lailah, Rylan, Reid, Hudson, Miles, and Eloise.  Brother Dave Davis (Cindy) - Johnstown and sister Kathy Shipman (Philip) - Washington. Barbara was a beautiful person inside and out. As a young woman she was full of life and loved being with her friends, eating pizza, and dancing.  Barbara attended Garfield Jr High then Johnstown High School before starting her nursing education at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital's School of Nursing.  During nursing school, Barbara met the older brother of one of her classmates, Jim Felix. Their mutual attraction was immediate and they married September 8, 1962.  She was a registered nurse employed by Conemaugh and Lee Hospitals.  She later gave up this role to be a full time mother and homemaker.  The childhood she fashioned for her family was filled with wonderful homemade meals and daily baked goods -- fresh bread, cinnamon rolls, cookies and cakes, especially during the holidays.  She was a skilled seamstress, making many of her children's clothes and was crafty, making macreme hanging plant holders and holiday decorations.  She loved gardening, canning, and reading,  often getting  lost in her novels,  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.   Barbara was a faith filled woman and an active member at her church, the Church at Shannon Creek, where she annually filled many boxes for Operation CC, attended bible studies, and helped in the kitchen.    She loved helping others and tried to do for others more than herself.  . Funeral service will be held Saturday 11 am at the Jon A. Meese Funeral Home - Seward. Pastor Roger Roadman officiating. Private interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
