Cathy Lynn Stiles

STILES – Cathy Lynn, 49, Seward, went to heaven to be with the Lord Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Indiana Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 20, 1963, in Johnstown, daughter of Gary Sr. and Sandra (Ooghe) Stiles. Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Marlind and Margaretta Stiles; maternal grandparents, Emil and Stella Ooghe; and stepgrandmother, Johanna Stiles. Survived by loving parents, Seward; and loving brothers and sisters, Gary N. Jr., married to the former Beth Wallace, Ligonier; Tammy, married to Louis Lamoureux, North Attleboro, Mass.; and Jodi, married to Tom Hilsman, Seward. Cathy was like a second mother to her nieces and nephews, Stephanie and Brent Stiles; Ashley and Andrew Lamoureux; and Stephen, Clay and Todd Hilsman. Also survived by uncle, Dr. Marlind Stiles, and wife, Ila, Erie; aunt, Lynda Ooghe and Ron Duray, Johnstown; uncle, Dave Ooghe, and wife, Pauline, Crestview, Fla.; and great-aunt, Naomi Young, Dilltown. Member of Valley Grace Brethren Church. A graduate of Laurel Valley Senior High School, Class of 1981. Cathy was employed by the Social Security Bureau of Disability Determination. She was a supervisor for Social Security and retired in 2011, after 29 years of service, for which she was honored with many awards. Cathy had a selfless heart of gold and would help anyone in need. Her prized possession was her family who meant the world to her. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. Cathy would manage the Stiles Koolit Korner in the summers, as well as help in the other family business, Stiles Market & Hardware. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, Seward. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Valley Grace Brethren Church, Armagh, the Rev. Norris Mason and Pastor Charles Burd, officiating. Interment, Armagh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Diabetes Association Research Foundation or send a card to someone in need in memory of Cathy who loved to send cards to encourage others.
