Stewart, Charles William, 86 of Brush Valley died September 2,2010 at Beacon Ridge Manor, Indiana, Pa. Born October 17, 1923 in Dilltown, Pa. Son of Joshua Harrison and Blanche (Tomb) Stewart. Preceded in death by parents; infant son, William Lee; infant great grand daughter, Isabella; brothers, Raymond and Wayne Stewart; sisters, Elda Findley and Ora Louise Stewart. Survived by loving wife, Lila Rae, loving daughter, Diane, married to William Hayes of Seward, loving son, Harry Charles Stewart of Brush Valley; grandchildren, Lonny and wife, Danielle Reed, Jeannetta and husband Jason Steele, Eric and wife Brandy Reed, Desiree and husband Cody McFall; step grandchildren; Jason and wife Michelle Hayes, and Jennifer and husband Rob Hodgson; great grandchildren: Skyler, Colby, and Trace Reed, Bailey and Jonathan Steele, Chance Reed and Lucy McFall, Brendan and Meredith Hayes, Paige Hodgson; brothers, Melvin Stewart of Brush Valley and Clarence Stewart of Indiana Pa.; sisters, Katherine George of Brush Valley, Anna Mae Davis of Indiana Pa. Attended Barkley Weslyn Methodist Church, Dilltown. Death breaks marriage union of 68 years. Retired truck driver and bulldozer operator with 48 years service. US Army veteran of WWII, serving overseas in the Eastern Theater of Operation. Life member of Indiana VFW Post #1989. Also a 26 year member of the Brush Valley Grange. Lifelong resident of Indiana County. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, 1201 Fifth Street, Seward. Where funeral service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, the Rev. Rick Markel and Pastor Jim Tomb, officiating. Interment Armagh Cemetery.
