MEESE – David J. “Jack,” 89, Richland, died Aug. 14, 2012, at Allegheny Lutheran Home, Westmont. Born June 16, 1923, in Johnstown, son of Charles David and Prudence (Brant) Meese. Preceded in death by parents and sisters, Jean Kedzior and Zoe Boring. Survived by wife, the former Betty Jean Patch; daughter, Karen Leigh, married to the Rev. Donald Krestar, Somerset; son, Jon Alan, married to the former Theresa Schultz, Seward; niece, Christine, married to Lance Slagle; and nephew, Rick Wessel, married to the former Nancy Sutton. Member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Morrellville. Death breaks marriage union of 63 years. Also a member of Cambria Lodge 278 F&AM for 50 years. Retired with 36 years of service from Bethlehem Steel Corp., having served as assistant superintendent of production and scheduling, also chief distributor of steel. Jack enjoyed golfing. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, 1201 Fifth St., Seward, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Donald Krestar, officiating. Entombment, Richland Cemetery.
