Dorothy M. Mahalic

Mahalic - Dorothy M., Saltsburg, formerly of Seward died June 21, 2012 at Indiana Regional Hospital, Indiana Pa.  Born in Robindale, daughter of Roy Earl and Minnie Mae (Shoultz) Carney.  Preceded in death by parents;husband, Andy who died in 1997 : infant daughter: brothers, Robert, Fred, Donald Carney; sister, Della Carney: step mother, Flora Carney; nephew, Donald R. Carney; niece, Michelle Davis.  Survived by these loving children, Andy Roy, married to the former Rosanna Balogh, Murray, Kentucky, Barbara married to Norman Oswalt of Rutledge, Tennessee, Sharon LaRosa and companion, Michelle Hays of West Miflin; grandchildren, Norman Oswalt, Kimberly Oswalt-McAdams, Amanda LaRosa, Rebecca LaRosa-Cook; great grandchildren, C.J. McAdams, Andy Oswalt, Zack Oswalt, Larry Cook, Corrina Cook, Lorelei Oswalt, and Joey Cook; brother, Earl W. Carney and wife,  Margaret of Seward; sisters, Eileen Carney Cole of New Concord, Ohio, Sandra Davis of Homer City; sisters-in-law, Doris Carney and Willie Carney; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.  Dorothy was a member of the Armagh-Seward United Presbyterian Church.  Attended and very active in the Saltsburg Methodist Church by cooking meals, making soup and apple dumplings and giving to the community.  Will be fondly remembered by many United School students as the lady that took their name in the lunch line for thirty years.  Lovingly remembered by everyone for her thoughtfulness in always remembering everyone's special occasions by sending them cards and prayers.  Forever loving purple.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Jon A. Meese Funeral, 1201 Fifth St., Seward, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev.
