PARDEE - Douglas Leonard "Quake," 51, Seward, died suddenly Sept. 30, 2009, at his place of work at the BiLo market in Seward. Born Sept. 9, 1958, in Johnstown, son of James and Marjorie Ann (Burkett) Pardee. Preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Ann Pardee, who died in 1987. Survived by his loving father, James L., and stepmother, Marjorie, Seward; loving brothers, James W., married to the former Connie Cunningham, New Florence; Michael A., married to the former Kelly Merritt, Bolivar; Robert M., married to the former Donna Galbraith, Bolivar; and Thomas L., married to the former Sandra Yeager, Seward; stepsister, Veronica, married to Bob Hoke, Armagh; and nieces and nephews, Stephanie Shaftic; Adam, Jordan, Jessica, Stephen and Austin Pardee; and Eric and Josh Baird. He was an avid Pittsburgh Panthers, Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan, and a NASCAR fan. He was a 33-year BiLo icon. He loved his nieces and nephews and was a wonderfully, kind person. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, 1201 Fifth St., Seward, the Rev. Duk Hee Han, officiating.
