Eugene Huey

Huey, Eugene, 88, of Seward  passed away January 26, 2024 in Johnstown.  Born March 22, 1935 in Seward, the son of Herman and Elizabeth (Bouch) Huey.  Preceded in death by parents, wives June, Donna, Peaches, and Audrey; infant daughter Debbie; brothers Robert and John; and sisters Trudy, Vi, and Wid.  Survived by loving daughters Bren Crouse, Thomasine married to Dr. William Acosta, and Monika Belden-Sokoloski, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and sister Mary (Bruna) Fortini.  Gene had a career in the military with 24 years of service as an Air Force Staff Sergeant  and was a Vietnam War veteran.   He also served as the Mayor of Seward.  He enjoyed driving bus for Lode Star Bus Line and loved socializing at the VFW, American Legion, and the Red Barn.  He loved crossword puzzles and his cat Annabelle.  Friends will be received Thursday from 12 pm until time of service at 2 pm at the Jon A. Meese Funeral Home - Seward, the Rev. Bud Walls officiating.  Private interment.  The Jon A. Meese Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
