HOOVER Harry Earl, 85, Seward, died July 28,2011,at home. Born Feb. 25, 1926, in Seward, son of William Earl and Erma (Haire) Hoover. Preceded in death by parents and loving wife, Hazel. Survived by loving children, Douglas, married to the former Jane Pohland, Harrisburg; and Sherry O'Shell, and partner, Rick Hoy, McHenry, Md.; grandchildren, Jason O'Shell,and wife, Jenny; Charise Peddicord, and husband, Ed; and Kathleen Miller; and great- grandchildren, Marissa, Morgan and Landon Miller. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Wounded in action and received the Purple Heart on May 18, 1945, in Okinawa. Lifetime member of Thomas Lewis Post 7022, Seward. Proud member of numerous fraternal organizations. He was self- employed in the field of construction. Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Sunday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, 1201 Fifth St., Seward, the Rev. Scott Hamley, officiating.
