Helen M. Hughes

Hughes, Helen M., 83, of New Florence, passed away October 13, 2019 at home. Born April 21, 1936 in Canoe Creek, Blair County. Daughter of Harry and M. Louise (Shaw) Gardner. Preceded in death by parents, husband Raymond Clifford Hughes, daughter Lydia Gorman, sisters Kathryn Catucci and Betty Snowberger, and brother Frank Gardner. Survived by loving daughter Lynne married to Richard Troyan - Seward, son-in-law Ronald Gorman, brothers Donald Gardner married to Helen - Shelocta, Richard Gardner married to Gail - Hollidaysburg, and Charles Gardner married to Linda - Blairsville. Helen was a member of the New Florence United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, and gardening. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Jon A. Meese Funeral Home - Seward. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Rev Sharon Hamley officiating. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at the Royer Cemetery - Williamsburg.
