Irene E. Sievers

Sievers, Irene E. age 88 of Virginia Beach, Virginia, formerly of Dilltown passed away August 12, 2018 at home.  Born November 5, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio.  Daughter of Earl C. and Evelyn M. (McMurray) Shaw.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward R. Sievers who died in 2008; brothers, Eugene and Thomas Shaw; and sister, Linda Shaw.  Survived by loving children, Edward Earl Sievers married to the former Nancy Lichtenfels, Virginia Beach, Va,  Evelyn married to James Griffith, Home, Pa, Margaret Gretchen married to Joseph Scislowicz, Franklin, Virginia, Donald J. Sievers married to the former Rhonda Boyer, Phoenix, Arizona, Richard L. Sievers married to the former Brenda Buchanan, Elizabethtown, Pa, Elaine married to Carl Comer, Chesapeake, Va, Eugene P. Sievers married to the former Cory Plants, Rogersville; 17 grandchildren and 28 great grand children; brother David Shaw and sister, Agnes Hackett.  Irene was a former member of Dilltown Baptist Church.  She is a current member of Charity United Methodist Church-Virginia Beach, Dawley Ruth Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, and the Women's Bible Study Group.  She retired from cafeteria services at United High School.  Irene and her husband volunteered at the St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store.  Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, Seward.  Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m. at the Seward United Methodist Church, the Rev David Ryu, officiating.  Interment Armagh Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Irene's name to the Charity United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach, Va.  23457
