HODGE - John W. "Jack," 77, Seward, died June 24, 2009, at Good Samaritan Nursing Care Center, Johnstown. Born Dec. 28, 1931, in Ehrenfeld, son of James D. Sr. and Thelma (Thayer-Hamilton) Hodge. Preceded in death by parents; son, Brooke; daughter, Tammy; and brother, James Hodge Jr. Survived by loving sons, Dana, Armagh; and Derek, Hershey; granddaughter, Shabree; and sisters, Janet Hodge, married to Gary Wadsworth, Linthicum, Md.; and Betty Grace Goodwin, Merrimack, N.H. Also survived by his best friend and German Shephard, Schultz. A Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy and National Guard. He retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp., with 33 years of service as a draftsman. Sole owner and proprietor of Twin Towers Automotive. Lifetime member of Seward VFW Post 7022. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, 1201 Fifth St., Seward, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. John W. Hodge, officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
