Edwards, James Thomas “Spanky”, 77 of Seward passed away March 10, 2026 at home. Born August 22, 1948 in Johnstown, the son of Leonard and Martha C. (Loughner) Edwards. Preceded in death by parents, brothers Armour Edwards and Leonard Wayne Edwards, and sister Luanna “Tootie” Swiney. Survived by loving wife of 53 years, the former Carol Ann Kelly; son James married to April Cockrum –Florida; grandchildren Autumn Rain and Heath River Edwards, and beloved yellow lab, Lucy. Spanky was retired from UMWA Local 1257 and PennDot Westmoreland County serving as Equipment Operator and Instructor. Member of Jaffe Shrine-Altoona, La Monte 568 F&AM, Lil Vette Unit, and the Indiana County Shrine Club where he enjoyed being involved in the Road Runners. Spanky was past Chief and Life Member of Seward Volunteer Fire Company and Fire Chiefs Association of Westmoreland County. Spanky also enjoyed throwing the Frisbee to Lucy. A private family viewing will be held with private interment – Armagh Cemetery, Rev. James Pardee officiating. A Celebration of Life service for the public to be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Seward Volunteer Fire Company Hall, Rev. Ruth Moore officiating. A Masonic Service will also take place. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Seward Volunteer Fire Company or Shriners Hospital – Erie. The Jon A.
