YOUNGDAHL – James C. Sr., 77, Cramer, passed away April 10, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Sept. 4, 1935, in Smokeless, Pa., son of Carl A. and Sara (Smith) Youngdahl. Preceded in death by parents; son, Carl Arthur; one brother; and one sister. Survived by loving wife of 55 years, the former Mary LeCompte; loving sons, James C., married to the former Jodi Layton, Richland; and Scott D., married to the former Alice Wadsworth, Cramer; grandson, Michael S. Youngdahl; brother, Rev. David Youngdahl, married to Dorothy, Beaver Falls; and sister, Arline Green, Pittsburgh. Member of Blacklick Community United Methodist Church. He was vice president of purchasing and transportation at Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was an Air Force veteran, having served in England. He received the National Defense Service medal and Good Conduct medal. He served as an administrative clerk in the Air Force. James enjoyed hunting, deep-sea fishing and golf. He was an avid boating enthusiast. Viewing will be private for the family. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, 1201 Fifth St., Seward, the Rev. David Youngdahl and the Rev. Jon Gulnac, officiating. Interment, Armagh Cemetery. Donations may be made to Blacklick Community United Methodist Church.
