WALTERS – Janet (Scaife), 92, Seward, passed away May 20, 2014, in Indiana, Pa. Born Oct. 6, 1921, in Philipsburg, daughter of Fred and Janet Smith Scaife. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 50 years, George W. Walters; brothers, William, Fred, John, James, Richard, Alex and Archie; sisters, Jane, Elizabeth and Catherine; son-in-law, Curt Boring; and daughter-in-law, Phyllis (Hause) Walters. Survived by loving children, George F., married to the former Eva Shaffer, Seward; Fred B., married to the former Josephine Mosier, Vera Beach, Fla.; Archie, married to the former Pamela Phillippi, Seward; and Mary, married to Charles “Pete” Clark, Seward; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ohler, Cairnbrook; and sister-in-law, Janet Cramer Scaife, Seward. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, Seward, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Scott Hamley, officiating, followed by interment at 1 p.m. Friday at POS of A Cemetery, Hooversville.
