Guaetta, John Clifford, 81, of Seward, died March 1, 2008 at home. Born May 3, 1926, in Seward, son of Domenick and Petrolena (Midile) Guaetta. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Rose Bucceri; and brothers, Joseph, Anthony, Domenick, Mario and George Guaetta. Survived by loving wife, Mary; stepson, William "Rick" Stouffer, married to the former Cheryl Israel, North Carolina; stepdaughters: Patricia Shingler and fiance, Tim Omen, Virginia; Pamela, married to Bill Weber, Ohio; stepgranddaughters, Jennifer Wolfe, Erin and Erica Stouffer, and Katie Stouffer; five great stepgrandchildren; sister, Mary Pingatore of Johnstown; brothers, Frank Guaetta married to Nancy, Michigan, and Carmello Guaetta married to Shirley, Seward. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward. Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theater. Retired welder at Bethlehem Steel Corp, with 39 years of service. Death breaks marriage union of 31 years. Member of Seward VFW Thomas Lewis Post 7022 and Seward Volunteer Fire Company. He was an avid bowler and golfer. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, 1201 Fifth St., Seward. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward, the Rev. Bede Mulligan officiating. Holy rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
