John S. LaMantia

LaMantia, John S ,  79, Seward passed away August 5, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born February 23, 1938 in Bolivar, Pa. Son of Anthony and Josephine (Marfisi) LaMantia.. Preceded in death by parents, infant son, brothers; Paul, Vincent, Philip, and Anthony LaMantia; sister; Mary Machak. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Frances and these loving daughters: Victoria, married to Benjamin Stahl, Mifflinburg, Pa, Marcia, married to Ronald Palmer, Blairsville, and Denise, married to Jeremy Dawson, Cabot, Pa; thirteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; brothers and sisters; Joseph LaMantia (Betty), Antoinette Cunningham (Gerald), New Florence; Dominick LaMantia (Gloria), Bolivar; Josephine Graham, California. John was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward. He was a US Army veteran (1961-63). He was a member of the Blairsville Knights of Columbus, Elks, and Eagles. John was the co-owner of LaMantia Beer, Inc., Blairsville. He loved to pitch horseshoes, gardening, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. John loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, Seward. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward; Fr. Robert Washko officiating. Interment Armagh Cemetery.
