PADGETT John W., 83, Richland Township, died Aug. 20, 2010, at LaurelWood Convalescent Center. Born July 10, 1927, in Cambridge, Mass., son of Anthony and Adele (Padgett) Hadgimanolis. Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorraine, who died Oct. 10, 1984; and sister, Yesime Tew. Survived by loving best friend, Evelyn Schultz, Richland; daughters, Cheryl Hughes, York, and Laura Padgett, Frankfort, Germany; and grandchildren, Damion, Alexander, Marlayna and Leah Hughes. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Former salesman at Packard Paper Box Co. Navy veteran of World War II, serving as an acting naval fireman on USS Noble, USS Loy, USS Brock and USS Wisconsin. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, 1201 Fifth St., Seward. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, Father David S. Peles officiating. Interment at convenience of the family in St. John's Cemetery, Attleboro, Mass.
