Kathryn ""Katy" (Verba) Hugar

Hugar (Verba) "Katy", 91. On September 23, 2019, Aunt Katy, went home to the Lord. She was born on the family farm in Vintondale, November 1, 1927, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Spis) Verba. Preceded in death by husband Lawence "Bingo" Hugar; parents; infant siblings; brothers Charles, John, Frank, and Adolph; as well as sisters, Ann, Pauline, Josephine Marcus, Jennie Hurt, and Lula Sammartano. Survived by brother Leon (Denise); and sister Elizabeth Faucett; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Christine, and Mary. She was beloved by many nieces and nephews. Aunt Katy devoted many years of her life to the family farm and to her mother, Mary. She was a generous and resilient lady. Though she began her life as an extremely premature infant, the loving care and wise nurturing of her mother allowed her to live into her nineties. We give thanks for anyone who showed kindness to Aunt Katy during her lifetime. Friends will be received 12 pm up until the time of service at 2 pm, Saturday September 28, 2019 at the Jon A. Meese Funeral Home - Seward. Interment Armagh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to American Diabetes Association, 112 Washington Place #1520, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15219
