Max Zar

ZAR – Max, 96, Concord Township, Ohio, formerly of Charles, Pa., passed away Nov. 9, 2014, in Concord Township. Born Jan. 19, 1918, in Hedin Mine, Pa., son of John and Mary (Perpich) Zar. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Susan E.; brother, John Gregic; and sisters, Mary Bako and Ann Yurkovich. Survived by loving daughters, Karen, married Gary Young, Concord Township, Ohio; and Diana, married to Frank Ferentchak, North Hills, Pa.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward. He worked as a coal miner, having retired with 44 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and hunting small game. He will be sadly missed by his daughters and grandchildren. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, Seward. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward, the Rev. Robert Washko, officiating. Interment, Armagh Cemetery
