KEITH – Robert Willard, 88, Seward, went home with the Lord on April 15, 2016, at Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. Born Dec. 3, 1927, son of Albert and Leona (Erhard) Keith. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Herbert Weidel, Leroy Keith, Wilson Keith, Leon Elder, Harrold Mehaffie, Richard Mehaffie, Paul Mehaffie, and Albert Keith, Jr.; and sister, Elizabeth Blattenberger. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Patricia (Crusan) Keith. Bob and Pat raised three children– Pat’s brother Arthur Maser (Vicki) of Uniontown, OH, daughter Marjorie Shetler (Darrel) of New Florence, and son Albert Keith (gail) of Reinholds, PA. Also survived by grandchildren Susanna Saunders (Orville) of Seward, Tammy Spitznogle (James) of New Florence, Renee and Amy Maser, great grandchildren Scott Jr. and Christopher Fetzer, Katelyn and Zachary Saunders, Brittney, Trevor and Jamie Spitznogle, Tyler Forsythe, and great-great grandchild, Lexi Fetzer. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Lu Johnsonbaugh of Altoona, and Lora Mehaffie of Yuba City, CA, and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was an Army veteran, and employed for 30 years by Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was a hard worker and a family man, friend, and fondly known as “Pappy Keith” to many of the community and staff at the Manor.
Member of Seward United Methodist Church, where he was a trustee for many years.
In addition to building his family home, Bob was proficient with all things mechanical. He could fix just about anything, and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He enjoyed his garden, his plants, and feeding the birds. Bob spent many summers camped out at different steam shows enjoying the gas steam engines and the flea markets.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, Seward. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Seward United Methodist Church the Rev. Scott Hamley, officiating. Private interment at Carson Valley Cemetery, Altoona.
