LAVIS Robert A., 53, Seward, died May 17, 2010, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Sept. 11, 1956, in Johnstown, son of Howard and Ethel (Machak) Lavis. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by loving wife, Brenda; sons, Doug and Jacob; daughter, Emily; brothers, David, married to the former Linda (Auchter), Lorton, Va.; and Tom, married to the former Rita Runco, Seward; and sisters, Mary Ann, married to Henry Hudy, Johnstown; and Lisa, married to Blaine Pynkala, Shiremanstown, Pa. Also survived by best friend, James Lamb, Dilltown. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward. Death breaks marriage union of 18 years. Employed as a truck driver with Wright Motor Lines. Member of Conemaugh Valley Beagle Club. He enjoyed and was an avid hunter. Bob loved to spend time with his family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, 1201 Fifth St., Seward. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward, Father Robert Washko, officiating. Interment, Armagh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
