BUCKINGHAM – Thomas D., 69, Seward, passed away Jan. 8, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Feb. 27, 1946, in Johnstown, son of Cyril and Rhea (Burkey) Buckingham. Preceded in death by parents and brother, Robert. Survived by loving wife of 10 years, the former Louella Ambrose; loving sons, Jeff Buckingham, married to Beatrice, Hawaii; and Donald Buckingham, married to Jacqueline, Florida; loving grandchildren, Ariel, Belle, Miranda, Morghann, Skyler, Kyle and Bianca; stepchildren, Elizabeth, married to Edwin Slaymaker, Johnstown; and Walter Burkett; stepgrandchildren, Kristen, Erik and Elyssa; stepgreat-granddaughter, Alana; sister, Lillian Patterson, married to Bruce, Rouserville, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews. Tom was a retired coal miner, having worked at Bethlehem Mines 31 and 33, with 20 years of service. He also was a nurse’s assistant, having worked at Laurel Crest Manor for more than 10 years. He was a U.S Army Vietnam War veteran. Tom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, Seward, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Father Robert Washko, officiating. Interment, Armagh Cemetery.
